'Horrible Bosses 2' Developing, 'Bridesmaids 2' Talk Emerges
So... they are going to try and kill their bosses again? Among the summer's greatest box office surprises, "Horrible Bosses," will probably possess a follow up, getting back exactly the same creative team in the original film. Based on the Hollywood Reporter, John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, the screenwriting team behind the surprise $118 million hit, have just signed onto write the follow-up. The film's leads, Jason Bateman, Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis, are likely to return for that follow up, additionally towards the original director, Seth Gordon. Another large comedy hit from last summer time, "Bridesmaids," has additionally been at the middle of follow up talk, but a brand new report in the Hollywood Reporter claims that Universal is able to proceed having a follow-up without or with star and co-author Kristen Wiig. Wiig refused any personal plans for any follow up telling THR, "We are really not focusing on that. [Co-author] Annie [Mumolo] and that i aren't planning for a follow up. We're writing another thing.Inch But sources near to Universal have stated that Wiig balked in a large offering in the studio, insisting on not creating a follow up. Another avenue being talked about is really a follow-up that will escape from Wiig's character and concentrate on the supporting player, à la "Make him the Greek." If Universal does proceed having a "Bridesmaids 2" without Kiig, the origin reasons the follow-up would focus on Melissa McCarthy's breakout role as Megan. The studio isn't any stranger to sequels without their famous leads. Later this season, the "Bourne" series continues without Matt Damon. Judd Apatow, who had his greatest box office success ever with "Bridesmaids" said around the story inside a statement to THR saying, "The bottom line is we must develop a concept that's nearly as good or much better than the first. We don't wish to get it done unless of course it may be great. I do not think anybody has already established the mind space to consider it yet. Hopefully that may begin thisyear." Though Apatow did not say whether he's thinking about another "Bridesmaids" without Wiig, THR reported a resource near to the situation who stated, "I do not think [Apatow] would proceed without Kristen and Annie's full participation."
